Being A "Girl" in today's world.....

Who says we have achieved gender equality! Trust me there is a lot of invisible discrimination against women. The worst part is instead of fighting for the rights of women, people have started fighting for the rights of newly "created" genders - gay, bisexual, lesbian, etc. I have nothing against them but can we first establish equality between men and women? We can think about the others later.

Let's get to the basics. What makes a man, a man and what makes a woman, a woman? Well, IT'S just that ONE Y chromosome which makes all the difference. Other than that, we are all the same. Women and men, both are human beings who deserve equal rights everywhere- workplaces, schools, sports tournaments, science clubs.

All the women out there, we are at fault partly. We think we are the only ones to be judged and restricted. In reality, men are also equally judged. But they don't take it to their hearts(or at least they're taught to do so) . And talking about restrictions, you have the right to break them if you feel its stopping you in some way. You don't need to explain and convince everyone in the society when you're going against the norms. Of course, giving a sensible explanation to our few loved ones is at times needed, but there's no surety that you'll always have their back. You should be ready to be on your own at times. I once had an argument with my parents on how they allow my brother to hang out alone late at night but I'm not allowed to do so. They feebly said," The society's like that.....We're just protecting you." The first thought that came to my mind was what's the point of living if your very own parents are telling you that the world out there is not safe for you just because you're a girl!?

To the bad men out there, is this the kind of world you want your mothers, sisters, wives, daughters, girlfriends to live in? And HOW CAN YOU do those heinous things? 😭A girl is a HUMAN too. Your few minutes of whatever happiness or satisfaction you get, DESTROYS the girl's life and makes other girls feel unsecured. Please just STOP it. It's high time we move past all this and focus on other things like discovering the outer space or climate change.

After completing my schooling, my uncle and grandfather asked my mother why I chose engineering and not medical. They apparently thought that medical is "better" for girls and were hoping that I get into that field. What has my gender got to do with what field of education I'm interested in?💀 When I started preparing for the engineering entrance exams, I could see the disparate gender ratio in my coaching class. It was 1:8 in one particular batch I attended. Upon researching I found that this ratio was MUCH MUCH better in medical fields. Girls, please don't be afraid to pursue what you're interested in. Follow your passion!!

A girl has the same right as a man IN EVERY ASPECT. She has the right to live fearlessly, chase her dreams, DO WHAT SHE WANTS IN THE WAY SHE WANTS! And NOBODY can stop her! And if men fear that she'll get better than you'll, then I'm sorry, it just shows how unsecured you'll are. Instead of trying to suppress her in order to satisfy your "male ego", it would be better if you'll encourage her!

So girls, be unstoppable! Don't be afraid to take the path considered "women unfriendly". Believe in yourself, be confident. Raise your voice, stay resilient to the society's questions. Beat the stereotypes. Don't let anything or anyone break you down.

LET"S CHANGE THE MALE-DOMINATED WORLD TO A WORLD OF EQUALITY!!!!!
